A religious psychopath brave, brave jihadi struck back at Zionist-Crusader oppression today, massacring nearly a dozen unarmed seminary students.
A Palestinian terrorist opened fire at a central Jerusalem yeshiva late Thursday night, killing eight students and wounding 11 others, police and rescue officials said.
The 8:45 p.m. shooting at Mercaz Harav Yeshiva in the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood broke a two-year lull in terror in the capital and sent students scurrying for cover from a hail of gunfire - a reported 500-600 bullets - that lasted for several minutes.
"There were horrendous screams of 'Help us! Help us!'" recounted Avrahami Sheinberger of the ZAKA emergency rescue service, one of the first to respond to the scene. "There were bodies strewn all over the floor, at the entrance to the yeshiva, in various rooms and in the library."
According to the Labour government in Britain, this isn't terrorism, but an anti-Islamic act. Others will say that the killer was just part of a tiny minority that hijacked a peaceful religion.
Lest we fall for such Orwellian doublespeak, however, let's recall that the Qur'an and other core works of mainstream Islam are filled with commands to violence and Jew-hatred. Take for example verse 111 of chapter 9 of the Qur'an, which I'm sure the killer could have cited from memory:
Lo! Allah hath bought from the believers their lives and their wealth because the Garden will be theirs: they shall fight in the way of Allah and shall slay and be slain. It is a promise which is binding on Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. Who fulfilleth His covenant better than Allah? Rejoice then in your bargain that ye have made, for that is the supreme triumph.

Don't get me wrong: there are moderate, non-violent Muslims. Care for a good example? Watch this clip of Arab-American psychiatrist Wafa Sultan giving what-for to an Egyptian Islamist and the program host on al-Jazeera. Or read the writings of Irshad Manji. But, until far more of these moderates are willing to stand up and literally risk their lives to confront the violent, misogynist, supremacist, and anti-Semitic elements that suffuse Islam, atrocities like the one today in Jerusalem will happen again and again.
