It's not just for Pakistan or Canada, apparently: Dallas Muslim Wanted in Honor-Killings of Teen Daughters.
Police continued their search today for a 50-year-old Lewisville father whose 17- and 18-year-old daughters were found shot to death in an abandoned taxi Tuesday evening in Irving, police said.
Police said they suspect Yaser Abdel Said may have shot Sarah Yaser Said, 17 and Amina Yaser Said, 18 and let them for dead inside his taxi.
Unlike Debbie Schlussel, I'm not ready to assume the killer has to be Muslim and that this has to be an honor killing -- there could be another reason for the murders. But, I doubt it. Honor-killing is all-too frequent in Islamic culture -- some 5,000 cases per year. It's part and parcel of Islamic misogyny, and a symptom of the Muslim world's failure to come to grips with modernity.
