This makes me feel so secure ... not.

It seems some employers and employees at Chicago's O'Hare Airport have a problem with the concepts of "security," "trust," and "honesty:"

More than a hundred people with fake identification were given employee security passes to Chicago's O'Hare airport, officials said Wednesday.

The airport raid, which netted 23 undocumented workers from Mexico, showed that rigid new security protocols implemented in the six years since the terrorist attacks of September 11 are still not working.

The city's department of aviation is supposed to rigorously screen all employees granted access to secure areas like the tarmac and cargo areas.

That process is supposed to include fingerprinting, an FBI criminal check, and a security threat assessment.

But 110 employees of one contractor on site used social security numbers which either did not exist or belonged to other people, some of whom were dead, according to a criminal complaint.

One undocumented worker looking for work at the airport, who was actually a government informer, was told to look through a box with about 20 airport security badges and "pick one with a picture that most closely resembled his own likeness" the complaint said.

Six years after the biggest foreign attacks on American soil, and these clowns are running their airport like a Chicago election. Great.

And this is what makes those of us concerned about border security so angry: we're at war. Let me repeat that: WE. ARE. AT. WAR. There are religious maniacs trying every day to get in here with the goal of inflicting more 9-11s on us. This isn't fear mongering, this is fact. Hizbullah operates in Latin America. Al Qaeda, too. Mass transportation is a favorite al Qaeda target. Madrid? Trains. London? Subways. New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania? Airplanes.

This isn't anti-immigrant or fear of the "scary brown people," like so many head-in-the sand Lefties like to imagine. The threat is real, and if we don't take it seriously, a lot more people are going to die. And yes, I want the northern border secured, too.

The clowns who sold those fake IDs deserve a lot longer in jail than the law currently allows. A lot longer.
