12 January 2007

My senator is an idiot

It's no secret I despise Senator Barbara Boxer (D - Moron). Time and again she has demonstrated for all to see just how petty and small a person she is. From her challenge of the Ohio electoral votes in the 2004 elections and her ridiculous attempts to obstruct the confirmation of Supreme Court nominees, to the questions she asks in committee hearings that show she has no clue, Senator Boxer (D - Moron) has been a continuing disgrace to the nation and an embarrassment to the state that elected her. She is a moron.

But now she's hit bottom.

During hearings of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Bush's new plan for Iraq, Senator Boxer (D - Moron) told Secretary of State Rice that she was unfit to advise the President on matters of national security because she is single and has no children:

January 12, 2007 -- Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer, an appalling scold from California, wasted no time yesterday in dragging the debate over Iraq about as low as it can go - attacking Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for being a childless woman.

Boxer was wholly in character for her party - New York's own two Democratic senators, Chuck Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton, were predictably opportunistic - but the Golden State lawmaker earned special attention for the tasteless jibes she aimed at Rice.

Rice appeared before the Senate in defense of President Bush's tactical change in Iraq, and quickly encountered Boxer.

"Who pays the price? I'm not going to pay a personal price," Boxer said. "My kids are too old, and my grandchild is too young."

Then, to Rice: "You're not going to pay a particular price, as I understand it, with an immediate family."

Breathtaking.

Simply breathtaking.

We scarcely know where to begin.

The junior senator from California apparently believes that an accomplished, seasoned diplomat, a renowned scholar and an adviser to two presidents like Condoleezza Rice is not fully qualified to make policy at the highest levels of the American government because she is a single, childless woman.

This is a new low for Barbara Boxer (D - Moron), one that should have thoughtful Democrats running to disavow any knowledge of her. Is this what we can expect from the national Democrats for the next two years, now that they control Congress? That they're going to act like a bunch of petty shrews who care only about the next election, while the nation is at war?

We'll see, but, for now, Public Secrets is proud to award Senator Barbara Boxer (D - Moron) the Stuck on Stupid Award for January, 2007.

Congratulations, Babs.

When I read this story my first thought was: only super-evangelical freakshows like the Jim Phelps crew turn on a woman for not having children. Rice appeared before the Senate in defense of President Bushs tactical change ... [Read More]
