Some reading for you to absorb and ponder:
Anyone with their eyes open has seen the anti-Bush, anti-Israel, and frankly anti-American bias of the mainstream media since 2001 -- or, perhaps, the course of events since 2001 has opened our eyes to it. For example, Charles at Little Green Footballs has put together a collection of articles and links demonstrating how wire-service photography from Lebanon and Gaza was faked by Hizbullah and the Palestinians with the collusion of news-service stringers, and perhaps the news services themselves.
Well, several articles today take a close look at photographer Bilal Hussein and his employer, the Associated Press, which Michelle Malkin renames the "Advocacy Press." Her earlier column on the subject is here. Michelle can be over the top at times ...OK, fairly often... but she makes a strong case here.
Follow that up with this article by Jules Crittenden's article in the Boston Herald, yesterday: Does AP stand for Al-Qaeda Propaganda? An excerpt:
Last week, the AP gave us a lengthy series on the U.S. detention of terrorism suspects. The AP’s opinion was evident. Bilal Hussein was the poster boy. The salient fact that Hussein was captured with an al-Qaeda leader was buried. Al-Qaeda has killed and abducted dozens of journalists, Iraqi, American and European. Mainly Iraqi. I wonder: What’s so special about this particular Iraqi journalist that he could associate freely with al-Qaeda?
Read it and find out. To borrow a line from Orwell, whatever their motives, the actions of the Associated Press are objectively pro-fascist.
Next up is a look into former President Clinton's new career as a writer of alternate history. Specifically, the controversy that erupted over his interview with Fox's Chris Wallace last Sunday, in which he spun a tale called "poor, poor, pitiful me" and rewrote his administration's documented history in its "fight" against terrorism. Ronald Cass shreds the former President's attempts to be the new Harry Turtledove in this article at Real Clear Politics.
Finally, my old friend Lance has a humorous, but nevertheless appealing proposal for real reform at the UN posted at LowDown Central.
